CHAIRMAN’S CHARITY – THREE ELLS TRUST

What is the Three Ells Trust? To Find Out More, Please Visit Our Website three-ells-trust.com

The Three Ells Trust is a local charity and was formed in 2000 by David and Helen Naerger following the loss of their son, Lewis, aged 16 years, from Osteosarcoma (Primary Bone Tumour). The charity was set up to make a difference to the lives of children and their families, who have cancer or other life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.

They work closely with the Kingfisher Children’s Ward at Dorset County Hospital, providing recreational and educational equipment at the hospital and to the families at home. They also assist with the often overlooked financial impact of travel and accommodation costs involved in the care or treatment of a loved one.

Since 2011 they have fully funded the post of a Paediatric Palliative Care nurse at the Kingfisher Children’s Ward and are now liaising with the Community Children’s Nursing team, with the hope of funding a post to help children and young people that are facing huge challenges within health care at such difficult times in their lives.

Primarily the raising of funds for this charity will occur during the second year of my Chairmanship, but this does not stop you  making donations at any time.

Just one of the groups doing the Three Peaks challenge as a fund raiser for the charity.
